ไทยประกาศระงับการนำเข้าหรือนำผ่านชั่วคราว สัตว์ปีกมีชีวิตและซากสัตว์ปีกที่มาจากอิตาลี เนื่องจากองค์การสุขภาพสัตว์โลก (WOAH) มีรายงานการแพร่ระบาดของโรคไข้หวัดนกสายพันธุ์รุนแรง (HPAI : H5N1) ในพื้นที่ของอิตาลี ตั้งแต่วันที่ 15 มี.ค. 68 โดยอาศัยอำนาจตาม พ.ร.บ. โรคระบาดสัตว์ พ.ศ. 2558
